Les Paul, creator of the world famous Les Paul electric guitars dies at the age of 94. His legend will live on throughout the world for as long as a guitarist picks up and plays one of his designs.
Can you imagine Slash, cigarette in mouth, thrashing out with the jazzy tones of a fender telecaster?… And Joe perry, propping-up Steven Tylor with a 1/2 size classical?…no. Would it be fair to say that the Gibson Les Paul was so good, it became more of an icon than the rock god playing it?

Here at PlayRecord we love our lunch time sandwiches, so when we found the NEW Way Huge Fat Sandwich Harmonic Saturator pedal we had to add it to our site for other sandwich lovers to take a look.
The Fat Sandwich represents a new era in pedal design for Way Huge. In addition to carrying on the Way Huge tradition of amazing tone, rugged construction and cool names, the Fat Sandwich delivers heaps of crunchy distortion goodness via its innovative multi-stage clipping circuit.
If you are not a sandwich lover could we tickle your fancy with a pork loin?!
Make room for one more Way Huge original! The Pork Loin incorporates two distinct tonal pathways that are blended together – a modern soft clipping overdrive and a modified classic British preamp for clean.
If this still doesn’t quite do it for you take a look at the Swollen Pickle!

There are enough guitars available to buy at the moment to make a… erm.. grown guitaristcry (yes, that’ll do). With China, Korea, Japan, Vietman, Korea, well pretty much the entire far east spewing out ever cheaper guitars and competing over quality, it certainly is a buyers market. Below I’m going to outline a couple of these brands and hopefully shed a little light over what you’re going to get for your money.
There are a whole galaxy of bits and bobs available for you to squeeze into your guitarcase from vibration feelingclip onguitar tuners to humidifiers. Many of these things you will survive without, however just surviving is not always a good thing. below is a list of some guitar accessories that not only add convenience to your life as a guitarist, but also make you appear more professional to the onlooker. The best bit is they don’t even cost that much!
Yes that’s right and I’m not even joking, Fast Fret. I’ve found that Fast Fret seems to last for an eternity. The mainpurpose of these products is to lubricate the strings and you’llfindplaying a much more pleasant experience with less drag on your fingers. Financially you will benefit, because the waxy coating makes the Nickle coating on strings last longer as they are protected from your sweat. Also one one very intriguing sideeffect I’ve found, both products have a unique and pleasant smell and after using them for quite a while just smelling the stuff makes you want to playguitar in a weird Pavlov’s dogskind of way!
Bo Diddley died from heart failure on monday this week surrounded by family and loveod ones at his home in Florida. He was famous for his unique ‘Bo-Diddley beat’ that laid the foundations for rock ‘n’ roll.
Diddley’s debut single titled “Bo-Diddley” hit number 1 in the R & B chart back in 1955. His success shined throughout the 50’s and 60’s with several releases, interviews and shows. His work continued, and he kept touring into his later years.
In May 2007 Bo Diddley was admitted to intensive care follwing a stroke he suffered after a concert in Iowa. A heart attack followed in August the same year. While recovering from both stroke and heart attack Diddley went back to his home town of McComb for the unveiling of a plaque devoted to him on the National Blues Trail, it was at this unveiling that he played his last public performance. Whilst Jesse Robinson sang a song written for the occasion, he felt that Diddley wanted to perform and handed him a microphone.
