Ringo Starr to be inducted into Hall of Fame

September 17th, 2007 by Benny

Beatles drummer Ringo Starr (real name Richard Starkey) is to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

All the other Beatles have already been honoured with the title, both as individuals and also as a collective, but insiders now reveal that Ringo is to be inducted in the New Year.

Ringo enjoyed significant success in the 70’s with his solo efforts – at one point out selling Paul, John & George and having 7 consecutive chart hits.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a museum in Cleveland. Artists who have had a major influence on the music industry are celebrated here.

Since 1986, a small selection of artists have been inducted into the Hall of Fame in an annual ceremony held in New York.

Inductees include Elvis Presley, U2, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, The Police & Eric Clapton.

Starr has seen the digital light of day, inked a deal with Capitol/EMI for new and previous recordings and opened the door for catalog compilations. He made a solid solo album in 2005, “Choose Love,” but really, has he ever topped his first single, “It Don’t Come Easy”?

New Departments

September 7th, 2007 by PlayRecord.Net Management

Hi there and welcome to the first post on the PlayRecord.Net Blog.

We have been working hard this year improving the site, updating all of the products and checking all those prices. Probably the biggest development though is the addition of a new departments system. This has allowed us to branch out from our core business of guitars, drums and other musical instruments and start to offer a Smoke Machinecomprehensive range of music books and just recently, electrical items such as speakers, plugs, lights etc. Got an amp that has a blown speaker? Fancy spicing up your live performance with some lights or even a smoke machine?

Keep checking back as we are going to be adding more and more great items to the site as time goes on. Soon we really will be a one stop shop for all of your music and gigging needs.

Thanks for reading ;-)
