12 Foot Knockout Performance: British Sea Power
January 31st, 2008 by PlayRecord.Net ManagementPhil Sumner, Keyboard and Cornet player for British Sea Power dived from a 12 foot PA rig at the Irish Centre in Leeds. Unfortunately the crowd were not ready for him and he hit the floor head first – an instant knock out!
A spokeswoman for the band said: “The impact knocked him out straight away. He was unconscious for three minutes and there was a lot of blood.”
“It all looked a lot worse than it really was, … He’s being very brave and getting on with it,” she added.
The unfortunate musician suffered a broken molar (ouch) and plenty of stitches.
British Sea Power are currently in the middle of a sell out UK tour, and have Tom White of Brakes and Electric Soft Parade has stepped in to fill the gap whilst Phil gets his head back together…
